Islay Beach Cottage – Interior & property photography on Islay, Scotland

A beautiful beachfront property on the Isle of Islay, commissioned to be photographed by Build It magazine. Owner, Angus Mackinnon built two contemporary houses beside each other in a remote part of Islay. Skye based architects, Dualchas are familiar with working in remote Scottish locations so were ideal for the job of designing the new builds.

Islay beach cottage has been a great success and is rented out for nine months of the year. property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-4 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-5 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-6 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-7 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-8 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-9 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-10 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-3 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-2 property and interior photography Scotland, Islay-1

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight – food photography at The Applecross Inn

Food and Drink photographer, Scotland

Scottish food and drink fortnight photography applecross innBy the time you reach the Applecross Inn you will already have had an amazing experience. The road over to Applecross – Bealach nam Bo – is an unforgettable drive along one of the most spectacular single track roads I have experienced. The views over to the islands are breathtaking and the drive alone is something that shouldn’t be missed. There is a huge sense of achievement at having just finally reached Applecross. Finding this wonderful Inn complete with a welcoming bar, friendly and efficient service, tables by the waters edge and wonderful food is the icing on the cake.

The chefs at the Applecross Inn always try and use locally sourced ingredients; seafood from Applecross Bay itself, Prawns, Squat Lobster, Crab and Lobster, local Scallops, Oysters, Mussels and Smoked Salmon.

During the Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight, the Applecross Inn aims to serve at least one meal made entirely from ingredients produced on the Applecross Peninsula. Well worth a trip out to the Inn during the Food & Drink fortnight!

Scottish Food & Drink fortnight – Applecross Ices

As part of the Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight and in conjunction with the Applecross Inn, Applecross Ices offer ice creams and sorbets made from the finest local ingredients from Applecross and beyond. Including tempting flavours such as Talisker Whisky & Heather Honey ice cream, Applecross Apple & Bramble, Toscaig Blackcurrant, Skye Sea Salt & Caramel, Scottish Strawberry gelato or Plum sorbet. We recently tried the Strawberry gelato and Plum Sorbet sitting by the waters edge and I have to say that ice cream doesn’t get much better than this. Most definitely worth a visit to Applecross over the coming weeks!
